Why did you choose to participate in the
ystark! Fellowship Program?
As a developing young professional I have multiple ideas concerning
my career path. However, other than a previous summer internship, I
had little experience in the professional environment. I was
looking for an opportunity where I would be able to get my feet wet
in the “real world.” This program was ideal because it provided me
the opportunity to test drive my professional skills, get plugged
into the community through service and networking, and get
paid!
What is your current role as a
Fellow?
Over the course of two years I will be working in six different
offices of the Aultman Foundation. Currently, I am working as a
member of strategic planning and information services in Aultcare,
the insurance division of the Aultman Foundation.
In strategic planning I conduct research regarding changes in
public policy, legislation, the health care industry and how our
organization will be affected. In information services, I process
insurance claims when they exist as raw data in the system before
they are paid.
Through the Fellowship program I am also connected with the local
community as a member of ystark!. I will be assisting with the
current United Way fundraising campaign.
Fun facts about you:
- My favorite thing to do in Stark County is to go to First
Fridays in downtown/hang out at Muggswigz.
- My most embarrassing moment was when I was a freshman in high
school I wanted to show off my dad’s new Mustang in front of my
friends on the wrestling team. It had a manual transmission. When I
started the car I did not take it out of gear before I let the
clutch out, which stalled the car, but not before it slammed into
the parked car in front of me. I did not get to drive it for awhile
after that.
- My hero/mentor is my dad.
- Sao Paulo, Brazil is the most interesting place I’ve
travelled.
- I love black and white photography (i.e. taking my own shots,
processing the film, enlarging my own prints, and matting the
images).
