How can you get involved?
Getting involved in ystark! can range from attending our events to
serving on one of our four sub-committees or becoming a ystark!
Ambassador. It's up to you to get as involved as you would like, so
we have designed a wide variety of events and volunteer
opportunities for you to choose from, not to mention all of the
things happening in Stark County that you can get involved in.
Want to get more involved with ystark!?
Check out our four subcommittees and our Ambassador Program. Our
committees provide input to help guide the actions and goals of
ystark! We're the collective voice of engaged YPs - make sure
you're being heard!
There are many ways to get hooked in beyond just joining the
organization. Let us know what you’d like to be more involved in,
but keep in mind that there are only so many openings to help out
at ystark! and we can’t guarantee you’ll get to participate right
away!
ystark! has four main committees and an Ambassador Program. Keep
reading for more details:
+EVENTS & SOCIAL
PLANNING
This is a major core competency of our
organization and is one of the things that really sets ystark!
apart. This committee is in charge of planning all of our social
and networking events. We offer everything from monthly after hours
meet-ups to fun gatherings for families, as well as large-scale
shindigs like Twenty under 40!
+BUSINESS OUTREACH
Our
Business Outreach Committee works with local Stark County
businesses to communicate our presence and introduce management to
ystark! The committee works together with area businesses to help
attract and retain YP talent to Canton/Stark County, and develops
unique programs to support businesses of all sizes in building a
talented workforce.
+EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH
The
Educational Outreach committee works to build relationships with
higher education entities (Stark County's five local colleges and
universities) and secondary schools in community. The committee's
goal is to root college students and recent grads in our community
- exposing them to the huge offering of jobs, housing and
activities available right here in Stark County. The committee
communicates to students the importance of professional
development, promotes our Fellowship Program and focuses on how to
stem the "brain drain" phenomena by retaining students in the Stark
County area after they graduate.
+RECREATION
The Recreation
committee plans our co-ed sports and recreation leagues, including
the annual Golf Outing and Golf League, Dodgeball and Softball
Leagues. We're always thinking about new recreation activities to
provide for our members - and we welcome your suggestions!
+AMBASSADOR PROGRAM
Our
Ambassador Committee welcomes new members to ystark! and helps get
new members engaged in our events through personal contact,
strengthening the ystark! network.
